It has been proven by science over and over again that GMO can be very dangerous for your health. However, even though it’s a well-known fact, it keeps getting used to genetically modify more and more foods.
It can be very hard sometimes to find the food you want without stumbling upon GMO affected product of it.
So, when you’re shopping, always pick the certified USDA organic product. You can also look for some local farmer markets and buy from them, since their foods are mostly without GMO.
There is a number on the labels of products that shows if GMO is present and you should always read it before buying.
It’s called Product Looking Number (PLU).
There might be a couple of different numbers, and here is what they mean: – 3 and 4 indicate that the food was grown on farms that had pesticides and chemicals present. However, it’s not GMO. – 9 indicates that there are no chemicals, pesticides or GMO involved. – 8 indicates that it’s GMO food.
